‘Pride and Periods’: Ananya Chhaochharia, Paint It Red

Ananya Chhaochharia is the founder of ‘Paint it Red’, an organization which empowers women from rural and urban slums to talk about their periods. Through workshops on menstrual hygiene, she and her team spreads awareness on several issues still considered a taboo in today’s society. Her work entails abling these women to access sustainable sanitary products and create a safe space for them to be comfortable with their bodies and its cycles. Through this initiative, she hopes to sensitize the society about women’s issues so that they are taken seriously and acted upon with immediate effect
